At Tact K9 Handling LLC, we specialize in private dog training services in Orange County, California. Our mission is to not only train your dog but also to equip you with the skills to maintain these behaviors for a lifetime. We offer in-home support, community training, and group obedience classes ranging from basic to advanced levels.
Puppy Training and Support (8 Weeks to 1 Year)
- In-Home Training and Support: Tailored for young puppies, including those not yet fully vaccinated.
- Name Recognition: Teaching your puppy to respond to their name.
- Basic Commands: Introducing sit, down, come, place, and stay.
- Leash Training: Ensuring comfortable and controlled walks.
- Feeding Support: Guidance on proper nutrition and feeding routines.
- Crate Training: Establishing a safe and comfortable space for your puppy.
- Puppy Handling Skills: Including hand-feeding, redirecting unwanted behaviors, grooming basics, and proper handling techniques.
Obedience Training (6 Months and Up)
- In-Home Training and Support: Customized to your dog's environment.
- Commands: Sit, down, stay, come (20 ft line), and free command.
- Leash Skills: Developing proper walking etiquette.
- Reaction to Distractions: Training your dog to remain focused amid distractions.
- Crate Training: Reinforcing crate as a positive space.
- Place Command: Teaching your dog to settle in a designated area.
- Walking Through Crowds: Ensuring calm behavior in busy environments.
- Reaction to Other Dogs: Promoting positive interactions with other dogs.
- Heel Work/Walking: Encouraging walking beside the handler without pulling.
- Door Manners: Training your dog to wait politely at doorways.
Advanced Obedience Training
- Loose Leash Walking: Promoting relaxed walks without pulling.
- Sit & Stay in Groups: Maintaining commands among other dogs and handlers.
- Down at a Distance: Responding to commands from afar.
- Recall with Distractions: Ensuring your dog returns promptly, even when distracted.
- Doorway Manners: Ensuring the handler enters or exits first unless directed otherwise.
- Leave It Command: Teaching your dog to ignore distractions like leaves or food during walks.
- Greetings with Friendly Strangers: Encouraging polite interactions with new people.
Community Obedience
Prerequisite: Advanced Obedience
- Public Buildings: Training in environments that permit dogs.
- Stairs and Elevators: Navigating various terrains confidently.
- Controlled Walking: Maintaining composure beside the handler.
- Down Stay: Holding position as needed.
- Safe Entry: Entering spaces safely under handler guidance.
- Restaurant Manners: Behaving appropriately in dining settings.
- Car Safety: Proper use of crates or seatbelt harnesses, with appropriate entry and exit.
- Off-Leash Work: Practiced in safe, enclosed locations, maintaining a 20 ft distance.
Service Dog Program
Service Dog Training
Available on an approved basis only, our Service K9 program requires comprehensive public access testing and is geared toward neurological disabilities such as autism.
