Tact K9 is Tactful Training
The Tact K9 team specializes in private dog training services in Orange County California. Our mission is to meet the needs of those looking, to not only have their dog trained, but to learn how to maintain skills learned to last a lifetime. We offer In-Home support, Community Training, and Group Obedience Classes from the basic level to advanced.
Puppy Training and Support
8 weeks to one year
- In-Home Training and Support including young pups not completely vaccinated
- Name Recognition
- Basic commands such as sit, down, come, place, and stay
- Leash Training
- Feeding Support
- Crate Training
- Puppy Handling Skills - Feeding by hand, redirect unwanted behaviors, grooming basics and handling
Obedience Training
6 months and up
- In Home Training and Support

- Crate Training
- Place
- Walking through crowds
- Reaction to other dogs
- Heel work/walking
- Door manners
Advanced Obedience Training
- Walks on loose leash
- Sit & Stay in a small group of dogs and handlers
- Down at a distance
- Recall with distractions
- Doorway manners-Handler always enters or exits first unless dog is told otherwise
- Leave it - distractions on walks such as leaves, food, etc.
- Greetings with friendly strangers
Community Obedience
Prerequisites is Advanced Obedience
- Public Buildings that allow dogs
- Stairs and/or elevators
- Walks under control beside handler
- Down stay when needed
- Enters safely with handlers guidance
- Restaurant manners, and any other food place with table service
- Car Safety-crate, seatbelt harness, enters and exits appropriately
- Off leash work, practiced in a safe enclosed location 20ft away
Service Dog Program
Service Dog Training
Service dog training is available on an approved basis only. Our Service K9 program requires a Comprehensive Public Access Testing and is geared toward Neurological Disabilities such as Autism.
